Dogs are an emotional issue and for many years the animal extremists have been using emotional arguments, not grounded in fact, to sway the opinions of both the general public and the elected officials who govern them. And these have been the only voices because they have been the only group with an agenda. People engaged in the sport of dogs and the general dog loving public have just gone their own way, knowing they are taking care of their dogs and assuming that is what is required.
Sadly, we now find that both PETA and HSUS executives have made multiple statements over the years that the total eradication of domesticated dogs would not be a problem and is, indeed, a goal. Funded with millions of dollars each year, donated by an unsuspecting public, these groups behave in ways that would horrify their very contributors if only they knew.
So we need a voice. We need a voice on Facebook and MySpace. We need a voice in Sacramento and Los Angeles, San Diego and Muir County and all places in between. Because those who would destroy dogs and our right to own them are way ahead of us. They are not just tending to their own lives and getting involved occasionally. They work at this every day.
So please help us fund the educational programs to ensure that does not happen.
