THE CDOC LEGISLATIVE GRID

One key to achieving the goals of CDOC and others who promote voluntary spay neuter, multi-lingual edication about responsible dog ownership and where appropriate, legislation that accomplished these goals without limiting our rights to own dogs is constant contact and education of elected officials at state, county and city levels.

We are always looking for individuals who care enough about these issues to commit to communicating with their elected officals four (4) times a year and reporting back to our Coordinators. We also need more Legislative Coordinator for our Chapters.

Four times each year CDOC will provide a package you can take to your local official to keep them and thei staffs current with what is happening at CDOC and in other organizations to promote responsible dog ownership.

By developing a relationship with your local officials you can, over time, be a part of their educational process. Our officials deal with thousands of issues every year and they cannot possibly be knowledgeable in all areas. If we leave their education to the animal rights activists, they will not have factual information and will be less likely to make decisions based on all the facts.

There are many excellent programs being developed across the state; "best practices" in many areas. By working together in this way we can help solve many of the existing problems. If you are willing to be an Legislative Grid volunteer, please complete and submit the form below.
