THE TRUTH ABOUT SANTA CRUZ

SANTA CRUZ UPDATE - While claiming wonderful results, the County of Santa Cruz has not reported any of the required numbers to the Department of Public Health for the last two years. SO we have no new information on what is happening in the County.

Santa Cruz County is the model that the proponents of mandatory spay and neuter talk about. But they never talk about what the real results are. After have mandatory spay and neuter in place since 1995, Santa Cruz County has never had a kill rate as low as the counties that surround it - none of which have mandatory spay and neuter.

And while they are killing more dogs than the surrounding counties on a per capita basis, they have also seen their costs skyrocket. It’s hard to take seriously politicians who want us to “be like Santa Cruz”.
